What is Latisse?
Latisse solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough eyelashes) used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker.
Only LATISSE has been approved by the FDA as a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes. It also has been studied in clinical trial to demonstrate its safety and effectiveness.
The doctors at McKnight Eye Centers can prescribe and sell Latisse.
How does it work?
How is LATISSE different?
Latisse is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways:
First, it increases the length of this phase.
Second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.
How soon will I see results?
The onset of effect with LATISSE solution is gradual. In the clinical trial, the majority of LATISSE users saw a significant improvement by 2 months.
Xeomin® & Botox®
Botox® and Xeomin® injections are a revolutionary wrinkle reduction procedure that can reduce or eliminate wrinkles in the upper third of the face, including forehead lines, frown lines between the eyes and crow's feet around the eyes. It is not surgery. There is no chance of scarring.
If you decide that Botox or Xeomin injection is an option for you, you will be given additional information about the procedure that will allow you to make an informed decision about whether to proceed. Be sure you have all your questions answered to your satisfaction.
Serious complications with Botox and Xeomin injections are extremely rare, but like any medical procedure, it does have some risks. Going to a specialist experienced in Botox and Xeomin injections can significantly minimize the risks. The vast majority of our patients are extremely happy with their appearance after Botox or Xeomin injections, however, we cannot guarantee you will have the results you desire.
You won't see the effects of the initial injections for three or four days, and improvements will continue for several days after that. If you experience any discomfort after the procedure, you can use ice compresses or over-the-counter pain medication. You may have a little bit of bruising.Botox and Xeomin, when used in these extremely small doses, has a high level of safety. Since Botox and Xeomin proteins are only attracted to muscles, it has no effect on the central nervous system. It does not cause numbness in the area of the injections, and muscles related to other facial expressions are rarely affected. One or two patients in every hundred may experience a temporary drooping of the eyelid, but this usually goes away in a week or two.
Botox and Xeomin are a proteins that weakens and inactivates muscles that wrinkle the skin. When Botox or Xeomin is injected in extremely small doses directly into a specific muscle, it blocks the signals from the brain from reaching the muscle. As the muscle weakens, the skin overlying the muscle relaxes and the wrinkles caused by muscle contractions soften and often disappear. The effect can last from 4 to 5 months.
Ask your doctor to determine if you are a candidate for Botox or Xeomin injection. Together, you will determine the number and regularity of treatments best for you.
Your treatment can be performed in an examination room environment. Since it isn't a surgical procedure, it does not require a surgery center. Your doctor will inject an extremely small dose of Botox or Xeomin into designated facial muscles using a micro-needle. It will only take a few seconds. You might feel a stinging sensation that will subside quickly.
Blepharoplasty
Through modern techniques and advances in an eyelid rejuvenation procedure called blepharoplasty, your doctor can help restore a more youthful, alert and healthy look to your droopy eyes.
Sometimes referred to as a "mini facelift," blepharoplasty has become one of the most popular procedures for both men and women because of its high level of patient satisfaction.
Blepharoplasty is also done for medical reasons to improve the vision. When the eyelids are drooping and interfering with your field of vision, Blepharoplasty is considered "medically necessary".
Blepharoplasty can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids.
Blepharoplasty is for those who:
● Have eyelids encroaching on their field of vision
● Want to reduce loose skin over their eyes or bags under their eyes
